I always ensure my energy is calm and positive before and during appointments, dogs are highly perceptive, and anxious energy will affect their reaction to treatment. If periodic breaks are required for your pup to reset, I will always ensure this happens. Building trust with your beloved is of the utmost importance. I typically swaddle smaller dogs in a towel, as you would a baby. With medium to larger dogs, I bring an assistant, they provide me the ability to ensure we can stop the procedure for a break (if required) in a safe manner; they also provide much loved belly rubs or simply an additional layer of soothing energy! Depending on the situation, owners may choose to participate in the procedure by watching from a safe distance or check in quietly during the process
All dogs benefit from a cleaner mouth at any age or size can be a candidate. Brushing your pup’s teeth is important from the start, especially if they aren’t big on chewing. For my service, I would recommend assessing your dog’s tartar build up around 1.5 years in age, if you see accumulation, its time to think of treating it. Older dogs who have not had any dental care may require Veterinary care, but this will be assessed and communicated at the beginning of your service
A dog may not be a candidate if oral issues are too prolonged and cannot be resolved by a scale and polish. I always ensure not to perform my services should I feel this be the case.
Sometimes, our beloved pets are just not great at restraining from aggressive behaviour or are simply highly anxious. This unfortunately, would lead to poor candidacy for my services, but is quite rare.
Stress associated with my services, is comparable to that of a being cared for at a groomer or a Vet. As my services is performed in an environment they are used to, the stress associated is drastically reduced. Similar to you being at the dentist, once you are out of the chair, there is no more stress, and you are back to your day!
I offer parent approved treats before or after to create happy memories!
Your pup will typically resume activity as normal, however some pups might take the opportunity to snooze a bit more. Should your pet decide to rest for the day, this is not a cause for concern.
Absolutely not! Your dog can continue their day as normal, eating drinking and playing!

· Feeding chews is a great way to help stimulate the gums and prevent dental disease.
*Remember to monitor your pet while chewing to avoid choking.
· Avoid foods that contribute to plaque and tartar.
· Cranberry extract is a great supplement to add to your pet’s food, as it aids in slowing the process of build up of plaque and tartar, as well can aid in reversing gum disease. Additionally, this will help ensure a healthy urinary tract and is great for the heart.
